Barbecuing Alemany with Dontaye Ball and Jesse Friedman

Posted By on Thu, May 27, 2010 at 5:57 PM

Our favorite morsel from the blogs.

Long story: A TV producer once asked Beer & Nosh Best Of blogger Jesse Friedman to on-screen a pilot about food, or farmers' markets, or some damn thing. Nothing came of it except this bit, a 10-minute video wherein Friedman spends time at the Alemany farmers' market Best Of barbecue man Dontaye Ball of Good Foods Catering (read Friedman's backstory at B & N). To quote Ball, feel free to make out with that sandwich. And yes, Jesse, we totally like you more because you cuddle a puppy at the end.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
