Maybe you live in the East Bay, and on the ride home after the last SF Underground Market, your jar of sauerkraut experienced seepage all over your Tercel's upholstery, or worse, on BART carpeting, admittedly hard to detect, but still, not good. Come July, soft furnishings should be safe from kraut juice, when organizer Iso Rabins plans to roll out the first East Bay Underground Market in a former glass factory off Telegraph in Oakland.

Rabins says a lot of UM attendees have asked for an East Bay spin-off. Since he doesn't know much about the realm across the bridge, he asked West Oakland's Novella Carpenter to hook him up ― about 90 vendors have expressed interest in the event, which Rabins hopes can coincide with Oakland's first-Friday-of-the-month Art Murmur.

Meanwhile, the next SF Underground Market is set for June 4 at SomArts, and it'll be an all-day affair.

Rabins says expect an emphasis on packaged food from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. After 6, things should get more partylike, with hot food, drinks, and bluegrass from The Brothers Comatose. Once change: This time, there's a $2 charge for admission.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
