Seasonal Farmers' Markets Are Back. Check Out Our Handy Map and Guide

Posted By on Mon, Apr 12, 2010 at 4:02 PM

Say hello to your neighbors and to fresh farmers' fare: your favorite neighborhood farmers' markets are back in full swing.

Last Wednesday marked the much-anticipated comeback of the Castro market, open Wednesdays from 4 to 8 p.m. through the end of October, rain or shine. Two more neighborhood markets are scheduled to open this month: to UCSF at Mission Bay this Wednesday, and to the Upper Haight at Waller and Stanyan on April 28.

Nothing beats just-picked produce straight from local growers to your neighborhood. The markets are a great way to connect not only with your local farmers but with your neighbors as well. For a list of neighborhood markets, check out the map below. And see our complete guide to seasonal and year-round city markets (after the jump).

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
