Outstanding in the Field stages al fresco dinners at organic farms around the country, touring from site to site in a 57-year-old bus that probably runs on spring onion fumes and goat cheese whey. Now in its 11th year, Jim Denevan's operation has been across the United States and back, as far as Alaska, New York City, and Eastern Canada. In the past, produce paladins sans pareil like David Kinch and Charles Phan have joined forces with Denevan. This year, more luminaries follow suit.

The 2010 North American tour dates were announced today. Passes for all events go on sale in four days, so act fast (if you can cough up the $220 per), because they'll vanish faster than Pavement tickets. California options are bountiful, including McEvoy Ranch in Petaluma on May 9 (chef TBA), again on May 16 at County Line Harvest (with Melissa Perello and Sharon Ardiana of Frances and Gialina, respectively), and then at Route 1 Farms in Santa Cruz on June 12 (with Bonny Doon's Randall Grahm and chef Charlie Parker). If we weren't worried about spooking some rooftop shelling beans, we'd 'copter in for City Farm in Chicago on the 5th of August too. Check the whole list here.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
