Weather guy says it should get to 38° in Chicago today. That makes our projected 62 seem semitropical -- unless you're huddled in the shadow of Oil Can Henry's quick lube on Folsom, where most days it's lake-effect freeze-y. That's where Windy City expats Yvonne Long and Natalie McMahon serve up authentic Vienna Beef hot dogs from street cart Da Beef. Pickle spear, lurid green relish, pinkish tomato slices: It's all there, packed in a Gonnella bun from Chi-town. Eat while standing -- body-length down coat, ear-flap cap, and snow booties optional.

Da Beef 300 Seventh St. (at Folsom)

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
