Bitter knows no bounds. Following the fallout over N.Y. chef David Chang's remark that "fuckin' every restaurant in San Francisco is just serving figs on a plate," Grub Street's Adam Martin activated his iPhone's calculator and got busy running the percentages. Hi conclusion? "Figs appear on more plates in New York than they do in San Francisco." Read the raw data here. Of course, as a Grub Street reader points out, in context, Chang's statement is about S.F. chefs' general ineptitude with produce far beyond figs. But, well, going there is pretty much like throwing lardo on a sauté pan flare-up.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
