Let's do lunch:

It's carb-wallow Friday! You've been good all week, picking at salads. Now take SF Weekly critic Meredith Brody's advice and load up on the spaghetti and meatballs and ginger cake at Park Chow (1240 Ninth Ave. at Lincoln, 665-9912).

Drink therapy:

The Giants are outta town -- time to reclaim the ballpark from cargo-shorted suburban dweebs. Represent at Acme Chophouse (24 Willie Mays Plaza at Third St., 644-0240) for $5 happy-hour noshes, $3 drafts, and $4 glasses of wine, 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Enjoy a budget take on the disco '70s (without the sleek Polyester slacks and coke-fueled paranoia) via $3 drafts and well drinks at Above Paradise in the Paradise Lounge (1501 Folsom at 11th St., 252-5018), 6-9 p.m.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
