Name: Ginger Snappers

Brand: Victoria's Kitchen

Origin: Somewhere in the 510

Found at: Andronico's Market (1200 Irving St.)

Cost: $5.99 for six

Unbleached wheat flour, brown sugar, unsalted butter, black strap molasses, crystallized ginger, eggs, baking soda, ground ginger, salt, cinnamon, cloves

Calories per serving: Not listed

Why I bought it: I've bought these cookies many times, but just noticed that they are locally made.

Tasting notes: Those afraid of the occasional burn of ginger shouldn't worry, as these have a mild and pleasing taste owing to the use of crystallized ginger. They're ideal to share as the lovely chewy texture does harden up a couple days after opening the package.

Would I buy it again? Absolutely.

What other blogs/sites thought of it:
These Ginger Snappers appear to be a well-kept secret.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
