Menus to Salivate Over

Sub Culture Dining by the Dissident Chef is an invite-only underground supper club in San Francisco that you likely have no chance of ever trying. (Don't worry, the same is true for yours truly, too.) However, SCD has been kind enough to share certain recipes on its site as well as a selection of its menus, and it is some of the finest menu porn to come out of this area. Check it out if you like to read about and be inspired by such inventive food ideas as a truffled meat PopTart with burnt caramel almonds and burnt caramel glaze or fig croustade with fresh lavender. --Tamara Palmer

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
