Beverages that promote wellness, such as kombucha, are in plentiful supply on Bay Area store shelves, but Sajen is the first local beverage company to produce a jamu, or healing beverage from Indonesia. It is centered around the turmeric root; curucumin, found in turmeric, has long been touted for its anti-inflammation and antioxidant properties. Available in Turmeric and Ginger-Turmeric flavors, both provide a flush of feeling good but I prefer the latter for its slightly warmer kick. Look for it at on Saturdays at the Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market (the only constant spot to find it at the moment) or at local food festivals. —Tamara Palmer

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
