Has the tanking economy got you down? Have rising gas and food prices cut into your slush fund (by which I mean drinking money)? If so, Mediterranean/American spot Cafe Rouge (1782 4th Street at Virginia) in Berkeley feels your pain, they really do. That's why they've announced Recession Tuesdays. Er, yay! I guess. The special, I mean. Not the recession. In addition to their Wednesday $1 oyster night, Tuesdays are now fair game for excessive drowning-of-sorrows. Stop in for $1 off all draft beers and $2 off cocktails, all day, every Tuesday -- that's tonight. For info. call 510-525-1440.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
