Nick Fasanella of Nick's Crispy Tacos in Russian Hill and the new La Spiaggia Delicatessen in North Beach is working on yet another joint, Underdogs Sports Bar & Grill (1824 Irving at 19th Street) in the Sunset. But apparently the whole bulldog-in-a-football-jersey thing isn't exactly his cup of tea, so he's doing what any self-respecting new bar owner would do: get everyone liquored up and throw a contest! He's offering a $500 bar credit for the best new name/concept. Just show up tonight between 8:00 p.m. and midnight, make your best pitch to Nick, and then unwind from all that performance anxiety with $1 Buds, $2 bourbons, and $1 pulled-pork sliders. North Carolina singer/songwriter Brent Jordan will perform at 8:00 p.m.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
