Though I don't wave the flag of any organized fandom (the pop culture I like doesn't define me as a person), I'm a huge My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fan, and have written about it at some length on the Exhibitionist in the past. This is different from being a My Little Pony fan per se; I never watched any of the previous shows even when I was in their core demographic, and I came into Friendship Is Magic fresh. This also raised my expectations for the 1992 series My Little Pony Tales, which Shout! Factory is releasing in its entirety on a two-disc DVD set on April 28, to a level which it not only can't reach, but was never really expected to.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
