Williams brought constant joy in his decades long career as a performer. His comedic and often thought-provoking work shines in classics like Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji
, and The Dead Poets Society
. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting actor as Dr. Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting
in 1997, as well as a collection of Emmy Awards, Golden Globes, and five Grammys. As the Genie in Aladdin

Williams' death is being investigated by the Sheriff's office but is suspected to be a suicide. That so many of our greatest performers and comedians suffer from depression and mental health issues is a great tragedy. Whether Robbin Williams was your cup of tea or just "that guy from Mrs. Doubtfire
," his comedic dexterity and dramatic versatility were apparent on stage, screen, television, and in music. He will appear posthumously in Night At the Museum
on December 19 and was signed on to finally reprise his iconic role as Mrs. Doubtfire
In a 2013 Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, Williams told a story about his time filming Mrs. Doubtfire
in San Francisco:
“One time in makeup as Mrs. Doubtfire, I walked into a sex shop in San Francisco and tried to buy a double-headed dildo. Just because. Why not? And the guy was about to sell it to me until he realised it was me – Robin Williams – not an older Scottish woman coming in to look for a very large dildo and a jar of lube. He just laughed and said ‘what are you doing here’ and I left. Did I make the purchase? No. * Did I walk away with a really good story? *Yes.”

are available in the Bay Area. Williams said, "Texting and driving at the same time is like jerking off and juggling at the same time. Too many balls in the air, if you catch my drift." But he also said a lot of nice things, like, "You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it."
We won't, Robin.
