Nudity has always been a staple in arts and entertainment, but it seems we're moving into a time of at least a boob on every tube. We're less prudish and softening to the notion of viewing more pornographic/natural depictions of the human form. Being naked is going mainstream, and one facet of the media that fully embraces nakedness is reality television. TV is disrobing and there's a lengthy schlong of a list that includes programs like Discovery's Naked and Afraid, WE tv's Sex Box, TLC's Buying Naked and last week's premiere of VH1's Dating Naked. So SF Weekly has compiled the following films and television programs showcasing nude scenes that stand firmly erect as important and memorable — compared to other flaccid companions in this genre. Let us know if you agree, or if you feel we left any off the list.
10.) Kim Basinger's striptease in 9 1/2 Weeks

A sexually strong film throughout that explores a volatile and passionate love affair between Mickey Rourke's and Basinger's characters that lasts the length of the film's title but it's her striptease to Joe Crocker's "You Can Leave Your Hat On" that made us sweat.

Yes, she only flashes a bit of tush on a New York City roof top toward the end of the routine but this scene highlights that nudity needs to be summoned and earned through a bit of teasing. Foreplay is critical! The length it takes this woman to abandoned all her garments was just long enough to let us lose our sanity — thus making her booty much more appreciated.

9.) Christian Bale and His Conquests in American Psycho.

Christian Bale has made a career of morphing his body to physically extremes from pudgy con man in American Hustle to morbidly anorexic insomniac in The Machinist but it is in American Psycho that we truly enjoy seeing Bale's physical shape resemble that of an Adonis statue. We don't mind seeing him film threesomes or chase and murdering blondes in the buff whilst wielding a chainsaw if it signifies catching a glimpse of his tight arse.

8.) Kate Winslet's Flotation Devices in Titanic

Kate Winslet is very comfortable displaying her Golden Globes and we don't mean her trophies. Her bosom has logged enough screen time in films like The Reader and Little Children, but it was her role as upper class socialite Rose in James Cameron's 1997 epic that introduced an entire generation of young men to Winslet's rack and became a pivotal milestone in their formative years. She put the tit in Titanic.

7.) Every Episode of Skins (The UK version)

When MTV in the United States tried airing their remake version of this iconic British hit, it was canceled midseason due to its graphic sexual nature that was too much for American audiences.  Featuring a cast a teenage actors, including Nicholas Hoult and Dev Patel, the show acknowledged that some teens do in fact go all the way and have sex. The program made teenage sexuality less taboo that it really is and made teenage audiences in Britain (and those elsewhere) learn about the joys and ramifications of sexual intercourse.

6.) Every Single Messed Up Episode of Shameless (The US version)

Unlike Skins, the American version of the British original has critical and mainstream success audience on cable network Showtime. Featuring a talented cast with the likes of William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum, the series depicts the dysfunctional family of Frank Gallagher (Macy), a single father of six children living in poverty in Chicago's South side. While he spends his days drunk, his children learn to take care of themselves and when you're an unsupervised teen or young adult, sex becomes an essential pastime. Almost every episode has one its characters getting it on shamelessly and we're okay with that.

5.) Valerie Perrine in PBS' Steambath (1973)

Before cable, only PBS could violate traditional censorship lines (look at Tales of the City, which was one of the first shows to display frank homosexual relationships), since they weren't beholden to sponsors' scrutiny. Perrine's towel-drop in this play's television adaptation showed off TV's first female nipples. They made a point and the rest is history.

4.) The Nude Fight Scene in Borat.

Sacha Baron Cohen is a comedic genius and one of his well lubricated tools to draw up laughter and awkwardness is his penchant for gratuitous nudity. Borat catches his Kazakhstani manager masturbating to his copy a  Pamela Anderson Baywatch magazine and what ensues is a balls to the wall fight  where the obese manager isn't even censored and Borat is exaggeratedly blacked out. We get that this is a joke going for shock value but no amount of scrubbing our eyes will ever erase those four minutes of nudity.

3.) Anne Bancroft Exposing her Motives in The Graduate.

Mrs. Robinson not only made  Dustin Hoffman's character sweat under his collar but successfully seduced us as well. Bancroft's character as well as Ruth Popper's character in The Last Picture Show created and cemented the movie MILF and forever made it acceptable to portray older womanly nudity in film and television. These women prove that they age to perfection like a fine wine while liking their men aged like their scotch: 18 years.
2.) Puppet Sex in Team America: World Police

It's already freaky enough watching marionettes bone in every classic position imaginable but this film goes the extra mile by also showing the nasty things that can happen while getting dirty. Just watch the clip below to believe us.

1.)Game of Thrones. ALL. THE. EPISODES

HBO has its reputation for being every teenager's sex education channel (anybody watch Hung or Sex and the City?)and for being extremely progressive and frank with depictions of nudity. With Game of Thrones, we see categories of sex and nudity that push our tolerance and mind frame to a whole other level. From half-giant prosthetic penises on Hodor to fireproofed boobs that burn bras and hatch dragons, no other show is a pioneer to the creative wearing of less. And because of this fantastical imagination approach to the nude body, we are freakishly addicted to this show as a new embodiment of sex addicts. HBO is not TV. It's porn... with Emmys.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
