For me, video games have always been about the epic experience. Games like Zelda, Final Fantasy, and Kingdom of Hearts definitely molded the the RPG and action/adventure genres with their production packages that infused engaging story lines and moving music with stunning imagery. Ubisoft announced, April 9, partnerships with Cirque du Soleil Media™ and the singer and pianist Coeur de Pirate to take epic proportions to the next level with the new title, Child of Light.

While I'm in my late 20s and more drawn to Call of Duty, the Batman Arkham series, or Assassin's Creed and the like, this game looks awesome.

Ubisoft promotes Child of Light as "a re-imagining of classic fairytales set against a picturesque background inspired by the watercolor artworks of The Golden Age of Illustration." In Child of Light, the player pilots Aurora across the mysterious kingdom of Lemuria on her quest home. Aurora, the Dukes daughter, is thought to be dead. On her journey she learns she must fight the Queen of the Night, who has stolen the sun, the moon and the stars.

The inclusion of musician Coeur de Pirate and Cirque du Soleil drives the thematic elements that engages gamers. The music resonates and flows with the actions and movements of the characters, and the visuals have a hypnotic depth and color that raise the theatrics to a thought-out production.

"Music is one of the most important ways to communicate emotion to players," Patrick Plourde, Creative Director, Ubisoft says in a press release. "The music of Coeur de Pirate is fresh, romantic and optimistic, a perfect match for what we wanted to express with Child of Light. I am extremely honored that she wanted to join us on this adventure."

Child of Light will be available to download on April 30, 2014 on Xbox LIVE for the Xbox® 360 and Xbox® One, the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation® 3 and PlayStation® 4, the eShop from Nintendo for the Wii U, and PC Digital, at the price of $14.99 and special packs and add-ons will be available as well.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
