Intersection for the Arts is the oldest nonprofit art space in San Francisco, which basically means it's the mother of what we stand for as a city: art, literature, theater, dance, and bringing community together. Not only has it showcased some of the most cutting-edge artists around, they've also incubated smaller groups who are just starting out. In addition to the gallery and theater, the events calendar is also chock-full of great things -- from free music on Fridays to Balderdash hosted by the likes of Michelle Tea.

Tomorrow is your opportunity to intersect and clink drinks with the myriad of changemakers in the S.F. arts community. Dubbed the Changemaker Social, this evening is sure to be a memorable night of both the people who make Intersection for the Arts what it is, the artists and visionaries that Intersection supports, and the members of the community who come to enjoy the extensive programming they offer.

Culinary vittles will be provided by SF Chronicle "rising star chef" Tim Luym (anyone remember his WOW pop-up on Valencia?), gypsy jazz courtesy of Hot 6, signature vodka cocktails, stories from this year's Changemaker award winners, and an affordable art auction with work starting at $25. If you want to shake your outfitted booty, you can dance to the stylings of DJ Proof, the responsible party behind local dance events: Soul Slam, Wonderfull, and Future Classic.

There's also pop-up presentations from sketch comedy troupe, Taste Better Wit of Bindlestiff Studio, Sean San Jose of Campo Santo, a film by youth from City Crossroads, Alex Michel of 5M Project, and video by ReAllocate.

If I still haven't sold you (what do you need, a pony?), you can enter for a chance to win a wine-tasting for ten guests, courtesy of The Winery SF, an entire month of free yoga at Funky Door Yoga (now I got you, Bay Area!), and an original piece of art by the amazing Wendy MacNaughton.

The party begins at 7 p.m. on June 30 at Intersection for the Arts, 925 Mission (at Fifth St.), S.F. Find out more by checking out Intersection's Changemaker Social Invitation. Admission to the party is free if you're a member, $30 if you're not.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
